Data Deletion Instructions
Last updated: August 20, 2026
This page explains how to have your personal data deleted from EtcBot, whether you are a WhatsApp user who messaged a business that uses EtcBot, or a business customer with an EtcBot workspace. These instructions implement the commitments in our Privacy Policy (sections 6 and 9).
1. If you messaged a business on WhatsApp
The business you messaged controls that conversation data; EtcBot processes it on their behalf. You can ask the business directly to delete your conversation and contact record — their workspace includes data subject request (DSR) tools that let an administrator erase a contact's data, including messages and media, directly. If you prefer, email [email protected] with the business name and the phone number you wrote from, and we will route and verify the request.
2. If you have an EtcBot workspace (business customers)
Workspace administrators can erase individual contacts' data at any time with the in-product DSR tools (export or erase, per contact). To delete an entire workspace and its data, email [email protected] from an administrator's email address naming the workspace; we will verify the request and delete the workspace's data.
3. Data received from Meta platforms
Where EtcBot receives data through Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform (such as WhatsApp profile names, phone numbers, and message content delivered by webhook), deletion requests above cover that data too. Deleting your data from EtcBot does not delete anything held by WhatsApp/Meta itself or by the business's own systems outside EtcBot.
4. Timeline and verification
We verify every request before acting on it (to protect the data from deletion requests by strangers), and complete deletion or anonymization within 30 days of a verified request — except for data we are required to retain longer by law (for example billing records) or that is needed to resolve an open dispute, exactly as stated in our Privacy Policy.
